PONTOOSUC LAKE CLOSED FOR WEED TREATMENT TUESDAY MAY 23

ALSO BOAT RAMP CLOSED FOR REPAIRS MONDAY MAY 22

The spring herbicide treatment date has been set for Tuesday the 23rd. The lake is closed to all uses for that day. Swimming, fishing and boating may be resumed on Wednesday the 24th. Other restrictions are;

Use of lake water for watering livestock is prohibited until Thursday the 25th
Use of lake water for drinking and cooking is prohibited for 3 days, until the 27th.
Use of lake water for irrigation is prohibited for 5 days, until Monday the 29th.

Volunteers from the Friends of Pontoosuc are placing printed posters around the lake to inform people of lake use restrictions.

Also, the boat launch in the Pittsfield City Park on Hancock Rd. Will be closed for repairs and installation of a new dock on Monday the 22nd (closed all day). The lake will be open for all uses that day, but there will be no access via that boat ramp.

I know there are many lake residents and other interested parties who are not on my list, so I ask that you share this information with others and encourage them to ask to be added to the mailing list.
