ARTICLE A

The Planning Board proposes amending Sections II DEFINITIONS, III DISTRICTS, IV USE REGULATIONS, V INTENSITY REGULATIONS, and VIII SPECIAL PROVISIONS of the Lanesborough Zoning Bylaw to modify the current Major Retail Zoning District to a new Mixed Commercial Zoning District. The new Mixed Commercial Zoning District will retain its existing geographic extent and allow re use of properties within the district compatible with those identified by the Berkshire Mall Future Use Study by the Berkshire Regional Planning Commission, dated June 2019.

 

All persons wishing an opportunity to be heard on the proposed amendment will be provided an opportunity to speak.  Copies of the amendments may be viewed at the Town Hall either in the office of the Town Clerk or on-line at www.lanesborough-ma.gov

The Planning Board is composed of five-members elected for staggered 5-year terms. The Planning Board is responsible for the upkeep of the Zoning By-law and for the generation of a Master Plan for the Town. It is also the Special Permit Granting Authority for several zoning activities as outlined in the Zoning Bylaw. The Board works closely with other boards and commissions to guide the development and preservation of the Town's geographic resources.
