Grants Donations & Awards

The Tree Committee received its first Tree City USA award back in 2005 and has reapplied successfully each year. 2021 was the 17th consecutive year as a Tree City USA. You may notice the Tree City USA signs at Town Hall, on Route 7, Route 8, Summer Street and Brodie Mountain Road.

The Committee gratefully accepts and acknowledges donations from individuals and local businesses and has conducted past Texas Hold ‘em fundraising tournaments. The fundraising and donations support continued maintenance of “King Elmer” the Champion Elm. When possible the Committee applies for grants to assist in planting trees and building healthy community forestry practices for the Town of Lanesborough.
